Key Responsibilities:
Ensuring that all staff members adhere to standard operating procedures, company policies, and industry regulations
Managing events, Shows and addressing potential problems that may arise
Working with promoters and producer team
Working with event planners to ensure that all logistical details are taken care of before an event begins
Overseeing the setup and breakdown of event spaces, including stages and seating areas
Interacting with clients to coordinate event details such as catering or entertainment
Scheduling and coordinating the staff for an event using a computerized database
Ensuring that all attendees have been admitted to an event by checking tickets or checking IDs against a list of registered guests
Supervising event staff such as coordinators, ushers, security personnel, cleaning team, and other team members as needed
Coordinating with caterers, florists, musicians, entertainers, and other vendors to ensure that they arrive on time and have what they need to perform their jobs effectively
Monitoring the event to ensure that it runs smoothly and efficiently
Serve as in inventory control for event managment materials
Respond to risk managment and emergency situations
Attend all regularly scheduled meetings
Negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favorable terms
Requirements
Experience working in a customer service-oriented environment
Previous event management experience preferred
Awareness of safety concerns and risk management, available through training
Ability to provide positive customer service
Awareness of, and appreciation for, individual uniqueness and diversity
Commitment to student development, leadership, and teamwork
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to provide a welcoming, inclusive environment for participants
Experience in administrative work, supervision, advising, and/or public relations is preferred
