Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all staff members adhere to standard operating procedures, company policies, and industry regulations

  • Managing events, Shows and addressing potential problems that may arise

  • Working with promoters and producer team

  • Working with event planners to ensure that all logistical details are taken care of before an event begins

  • Overseeing the setup and breakdown of event spaces, including stages and seating areas

  • Interacting with clients to coordinate event details such as catering or entertainment

  • Scheduling and coordinating the staff for an event using a computerized database

  • Ensuring that all attendees have been admitted to an event by checking tickets or checking IDs against a list of registered guests

  • Supervising event staff such as coordinators, ushers, security personnel, cleaning team, and other team members as needed

  • Coordinating with caterers, florists, musicians, entertainers, and other vendors to ensure that they arrive on time and have what they need to perform their jobs effectively

  • Monitoring the event to ensure that it runs smoothly and efficiently

  • Serve as in inventory control for event managment materials

  • Respond to risk managment and emergency situations

  • Attend all regularly scheduled meetings

  • Negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favorable terms


Requirements

  • Experience working in a customer service-oriented environment

  • Previous event management experience preferred

  • Awareness of safety concerns and risk management, available through training

  • Ability to provide positive customer service

  • Awareness of, and appreciation for, individual uniqueness and diversity

  • Commitment to student development, leadership, and teamwork

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to provide a welcoming, inclusive environment for participants

  • Experience in administrative work, supervision, advising, and/or public relations is preferred
